Education has turned into a boxing ring, nowadays, with parents fighting for the “grades” of their children. Children are expected to be excellent in studies and extraordinary in other activities. They have become trophies.
Children attend endless courses and programmes. Parents enroll their children just for competition or social stigma. And during exams, it is like a house that is mourning. The parents are more tensed and stressed, which in turn puts a lot of pressure on the children. Let’s look into a few things that we can do regularly, so that we aren’t stressed during an exam.
Create a timetable, and follow it diligently every day.
Prioritise the subjects based on difficulty.
Include break time in the timetable.
Set a goal, and work to achieve it.
Avoid distractions, study in silence. Some study with music, which is also fine.
Keep all the gadgets away.
Eat before you sit down to study.
Complete your bathroom business before starting your study timetable routine.
Keep a bottle or glass of water handy.
Avoid eating while studying.
Doing your homework does not count as studying.
Do not compare yourself or studies with your friends.
If you study every day, and follow a routine, you will be set for your exams and will not have to be tensed and worried.
Being consistent and having a routine is good for one’s life. Let us make education, fun and not a circus for our children.
Here goes a saying, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence therefore is not an act but a habit.”
