Birthdays are special, at least for me. Though birthdays these days are all about spending money and putting up a pompous show, I prefer celebrating mine just with family or friends. Even for my son, I do not prefer a big hullabaloo. I remember giving into societal pressure and celebrating my son’s first birthday in big hotel, with a spread of different food and games and music. Though it was fun, the saddest part was my son did not understand what was all this about and actually did not enjoy it. It is a beautiful memory, just not for my son.
I see a lot of parents looking for options for birthday, especially the return gifts. It is disheartening to see parents struggling to put up a show, even when they aren’t able to afford it. We all want to give our children everything they desire; our hard work and struggles are for them to be happy and have a bright future.
Who says we cannot have an awesome birthday party, within a limited budget? Check out some pocket friendly options for a birthday party.
Balloons are the life of a birthday party; they keep the little ones happy and running. Use colourful balloons as décor. Do not buy expensive balloons, after all they are going to burst.
If you like cooking, then serve homemade food or you can order from a small/home business. They understand your budget, and work accordingly. They are healthier than hotel food.
Give return gifts, keeping ‘use’ in mind. Toys generally end up in the toy basket after a few days. Some ideas are; notebooks or diary, story books like tinkle, cute toothbrushes (if the party is for the smaller children), Rubik’s cube, etc.
Order a small cake for cutting, and to serve pre sliced cakes. Makes the work easy and mess free.
One can always make décor, using some simple ideas from YouTube or order it online (works cheaper and can be reused).
Birthdays are to enjoy and not stress about. Always do what works for you the best. Children will enjoy a party not matter how small or big. Let out your creative side and safeguard your wallet.
