The Kardashian-Jenner dynasty is perceived as being less relevant on social media, and the fact that the family was not invited to the Met Gala heightened this perception.
Currently, TikTok is flooded with claims, and one user has noted that a number of factors contributed to the purported demise.
Commentators assert that the Jenner family’s prominence was already on downward trend and that their apparent conflict with Selena Gomez was the cherry on top. Fans still don’t believe them despite the pair’s categorical denial of any enmity and their efforts to dispel suspicions, and Kylie has therefore lost almost a million Instagram followers.
In 2023, with the popularity of TikTok, the fans claimed that “authenticity trumps perfection, people want the real thing,” citing artistes like Lewis Capaldi, Lizzo, and Adele as examples that are “relatable and down to earth – unlike the KarJenner clan.”
In a recent research, Gen Z members were asked to list their top five influencers, and none of them were family members.
With their precisely timed photographs and visually appealing feeds, the Kardashians undoubtedly nailed the Instagram era. However, the new wave of authentic content signals a significant cultural and generational shift.
Others think the family is “losing their hype” as a result of overdoing PR gimmicks. The moves, according to TikToker Gizem (@itsmorethanjustgossip), have gotten so bizarre.
Gizem began by stating, “Kylie can do the most simple, seemingly casual TikTok about doing her makeup and people will say it’s a calculated, inauthentic PR move,” before going on to discuss the fact that Kylie disclosed her son’s name on Instagram almost a year after he was born.
Despite this, it is undeniable that the KarJenners are successful businesswomen, as seen by the astounding 26 firms that the family has owned in the past and today.
Kim’s Skims, Kourtney’s health company Poosh, Kylie’s beauty empire, Khloe’s Good American denim company, and Kendall’s 818 tequila are just a few of the profitable businesses that have called them home in recent years.
The KarJenners won’t be leaving anytime soon, based on how well they’ve recovered in the past. They might, however, come back with a significant, unsubtle relaunch.
