Bengaluru: The BMTC operates additional transports by the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation(BMTC) in the wake of the bandh call by various private transport unions on September 11.
For the convenience of passengers and public in Bangalore city and its suburbs, BMTC is operating 5601 schedules, a total of 57450 trips daily. As various Taxi/auto and other private vehicles association has called for a strike from Sunday midnight to Monday midnight, to fulfill their various demands.
In view of the bandh and to provide uninterrupted transport service to the school/college children and general public of Bangalore city.
BMTC is operating extra/ Additional 500 schedules (4000 trips) from major bus stations such as Kempegowda Bus Stand, K.R.Market and Shivajinagar Bus Stands to Kadugodi, Sarjapur, Attibele, Anekal, Bannerghatta/Jigani, Harohalli, Bidadi, Tavarekere, Nelamangala, Hesaraghatta, Doddabalapur, Devanahalli, Bagalur, Channasandra, Hoskote and Outer Circle.
A plan has been drawn up to operate around 4000 additional trips from 500 schedules depending on the traffic demand on outer Ring Roads and routes connecting important places of the city.
Further, the BMTC officers/staff and sarathi patrol forces are being deployed on major roads, bus stands and junctions of the city and the traffic is being monitored.
Also, action will be taken for the operation of additional trips on the routes wherever traffic demand exists. Also 100 additional KIAS trips are planned to operate at the airport.
