Bengaluru: Reacting to former chief minister H.D. Kumaraswamy ‘s allegation that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is also the reason behind fall of JDS Government, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said that, it is like the one who cannot dance, blames it on the stage. Similarly he is alleging in vain, Chief minister said here today.
He spoke to media after paying tributes to statue of Kittur Rani Chennamma near townhall. On the occasion of Vijayadashami, he said that he will take part in procession of Chamundeshwari Devi, Nandi kamba Pooja and other festivities organised in Mysore along with ministers, legislators and officers.
Reacting to Kumaraswamy ‘s criticism on CM watching Australia – Pakistan cricket match, he said that he had been to support the sport and asked, why was he staying in Westend hotel.
Replying to the comments about not vacating the quarters, Yediyurappa was staying there till the end. I was staying there as Minister George, to whom the quarters was allotted, let me stay there. Kaveri is not a designated quarters to Chief Minister, he clarified.
CM Visits, Maharani College and Hostel in Mysuru
Later, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah visited Maharani College and Hostel in Mysuru and told mediapersons that officers were instructed to take construction of hostel and college at an estimated cost of Rs 150 crore.
Hostel with 4 towers accommodating 2000 students is being built. Each tower will accommodate 500 students. A part of Maharani Science College. Retaining the heritage building in the front portion new building will be constructed in the remaining space, he said.
Higher Education Department has been directed to take up works with Rs 150 crore including Science College construction work at a cost of Rs 51 crore, arts college in Rs 17 crore and student hostel in Rs 99 Crore. Previous Government has not taken up any development work in Mysuru, he said.
Our Government is inspired with the work Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar in the fields of education and health and taken up development works, he said.
