Bengaluru: Nandi Award was launched for the first time in Kannada and its emblem was unveiled by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The neighboring Andhra Pradesh also gives Nandi Awards, a state award given to the achievers of the entertainment sector. So, seeing that this new private award of our state has the same name, but it is not related to the Andhra Award. Both are completely different.
Nandi is a powerful image symbol for Kannada. That is why the same word is chosen here. As soon as the Nandi Awards were announced, everyone is now guessing the names of Kannada artists and technicians who can get the first Nandi Award. When will this ceremony be held? The founder team of ‘Nandi Film Award’ held a press conference and informed the media about the details of how many categories and how many awards to be given.
Chairman of the Karnataka Board of Film Commerce Ba Ma Harish, producer Nithyananda Prabhu, Padmavathi Chandrasekhar and Anita Reddy are the founders of this award, while Ba Ma Girish, Harshita, Nandita and Ashok are the directors. Producer Nithyananda Prabhu, who gave information about the award ceremony, said, “Whatever we have announced about the Karnataka Nandi Film Award-2023, it will apply to the films of 2022. Earlier, in the name of Nandi Award, it was held in South India and discontinued in 2016.
Even now, Nandi Film Award is being held in the Telugu film industry. This Nandi Awards will be given to the Kannada industry alone. In Kannada movies, regional languages such as Tulu, Kodava, Konkani, Beary and Banjara are given importance. Awards are also given for literature, print and visual media. More than 50 categories of talents are recognized and awarded.

After realizing and discussing all this, the board decided to give Nandi Award. The award ceremony will be held on December 6 at Orion Mall, Bangalore and awards will be given in 50 categories.
