Recent statement by U. T. Khader, Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly has created different opinions among the mass. He said during training sessions for new legislators that political course is essential for aspiring politicians. Now the debate is whether such training is needed or not, if needed then what one person should learn and what is the academic framework?
Days back in 1982, Rambhau Malgi Prabodhini located in Thane, Maharashtra is first-of-its-kind to offer leadership trainings to elected representatives. There are various organisations which offer management and leadership trainings to corporates however only few are covering other sectors too.
However, what a politician should learn?Being public representative leadership is a pivotal quality one should have. Other than that socio-economic dimensions of the region is very essential thing one person should know. Sustainable development models are the need of the hour. If an aspiring politician can understand Science and nature above the financial calculations, it will be well and good for the whole ecology at large.
Financial management is the crucial issue any home, company or even government faces on a day to day basis. Understanding financial needs and demands is very essential element even a common person should know. Along with that crisis management is the key skill a leader can demonstrate at bad times. Patience, and communication brings a convincing and trusting value to a person. A leader can emerge within anyone if they practise these skillsets.
Learning is not a destination, its part of daily voyage. Thus a politician should know these algorithms along with vote bank calculations to drive a successful career in political life because there is a huge competition to get even panchayat election ticket! When there is such competitions, its obivious that quality candidates chip in in every sector except politics. If the same quality representative is of our’s, then we can have sensible representatives among us to lead us for a better days. Hope Speaker’s sound is loud and clear with this motto!
